Rec League

At Fishhawk Youth Baseball, we offer two types of baseball programs: Recreational baseball and Advanced Baseball.

“Rec Ball” provides a sports outlet for players wishing to learn about the game of baseball, meet new friends and have fun in a less competitive setting.

“AB” provides an additional opportunity for those who wish to receive focused instruction, while competing against top level competition within the area’s AB Program.

Parent Involvement

If you would like to be a manager or assistant manager for rec or AB baseball, please fill out the appropriate forms when registering. You will still need to pick concessions and park clean up during the registration process, but will be removed if you are selected.

Divisions

TBall Division

The objective of the T-Ball program is to introduce children to the basics of the game of baseball. The league is intended to provide families a safe and enjoyable experience in what, for most, will be their first exposure to baseball.

Rookies Division

The objective of the Rookie Division is to focus on fundamentals in order to build basic skills. The use of pitching machines at this level will introduce players to hitting pitched balls.

We attempt to split our Rookie division into a 7U and 8U group allowing 6 years olds to try to play up. Those intending to play up a division must attend the Rookie Evaluations and be selected by the evaluation committee.

Minors Division

The objective of the Minor Division is to focus on advancing the players to Kid Pitch. This level introduces the fundamentals of defense with stealing of bases introduced with no leading. The field dimensions are 60 foot bases and 46 foot mound.

Majors Division

The objective of the Majors Division is to advance the baseball game to the next level with full baseball rules including Leading, Drop Third Strike and calling of balks by a pitcher. The field dimensions increase to 70 foot bases and 50 foot mounds. The intermediate field size begins to prepare the player for Babe Ruth divisions and the full size (“Big Field”) game.

Juniors and Seniors Divisions

The objective of the Babe Ruth Divisions is full on competitive baseball with skill instruction to incorporate the full size filed dimensions of 90 foot bases and 60 foot 6 inch mounds.
