Details on Friday’s Free Opening Night Event

Get ready! This year’s kick off to the Fishhawk Youth Baseball spring season will be under the lights!

Come on out and celebrate the start to another year of spring baseball! It’s our thank you to our families and volunteers who spend so much time at FYB.

Starting at 6 PM on Friday, the evening is set to be a night of fun, food trucks and friends.

Here’s a quick preview:

  • Food trucks (15% of proceeds will be donated back to FYB)
  • Bounce houses
  • Skills games
  • Baseball vs. Softball Coaches game
  • Super slide
  • Pitching games
  • Junior games
  • Music
  • Prizes
  • Vendors & Sponsors

The evening will be a great way to kick off the spring season – and all events are FREE.

Here are some FAQs:

Does my child need to wear his/her jersey?
Yes, we are asking that players wear their jerseys and hats, but with shorts, etc.

Will there still be a Parade of Teams?
No, we have taken that portion of the program out this year.

My child was an All-star last spring. Does he/she need to wear an All-star jersey?
If your child’s team won their District Tournament, their All-star coach will be contacting them about this.

What happens on Saturday?
Games will begin at 9 AM on Saturday as usual. Shortly before the start, we will have the National Anthem and first pitch. Former FYB players who now play for USF will be on hand for this portion of the day.

Why did you switch to the evening format?
We felt that Saturday was becoming more and more difficult – especially for teams who were expected to be there early for Opening Ceremonies but then didn’t play until the afternoon. Plus, we wanted to give the kids a great night of fun. That would not have been possible if we crammed it all into one day.
